TransGas Energy Systems, LLC ("TGE"), a limited liability corporation, proposes to permit, construct and operate an 1,100 megawatt combined cycle power plant on the Greenpoint/Williamsburg East River waterfront at the Bushwick Creek Inlet (1 North 12th St.). TransGas is controlled by energy speculator Adam Victor. His project will have 300 foot smokestacks, spew well over a thousand tons per year of toxic emissions into our local environment, increase the area's already hightened asthma levels and ruin New York City's and New York State's plans for parks and residential and commercial development on the Greenpoint/ Williamsburg waterfront.

The Greenpoint/Williamsburg Waterfront Task Force ("Task Force") is a coalition of over 60 community organizations, religious institutions and Brooklyn Community Board One dedicated to stopping TGE. To assist this effort, the Columbia Univeristy Environmental Law Clinic has joined forces with GWAPP, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Community Board One and the Task Force to represent the community.
