GWAPP Issue:

Community Information for the Greenpoint / Williamsburg Area

THE PROJECT

Greenpoint/Williamsburg is the most vibrant developing waterfront community in New York City. Situated across from the scenic midtown Manhattan skyline, this community's formerly industrial coastline has given way to plans for new growth centered on open space, residential and commercial developement.

OUR MISSION

GWAPP is dedicated to fostering the creation of new uses on North Brooklyn's formerly industrial waterfront. These new uses include the creation of greenspace, community sensitive waterfront development and ferry service to connect Greenpoint/Williamsburg to the eastside of Manhattan. GWAPP recognizes, however, that any change must be balanced with the need to retain community character and proctecting residents from adverse impacts of new development.
